        Hot new Motorola smartphone boasts quad-band wireless, video

        Motorola has announced what it calls the "ultimate mobile email device." The MPx220, running Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition, is said to include an integrated 1.23 megapixel camera, Bluetooth wireless technology, and quad-band wireless performance.

        Motorola says the MPx220 is "full of possibilities, packed with features, and delivered in one aesthetically pleasing, sophisticated and compact design." The handset is said to provide continuous access to email, instant messaging, multimedia, and business contacts. It also boasts the latest in Bluetooth wireless technology, advanced downloading capabilities for Windows Mobile and Java applications, a built-in speakerphone, and expandable memory. Rounding out the feature line-up is an integrated megapixel digital camera featuring zoom, flash, self-imaging, video recorder, camcorder, and video playback.

        Motorola introduced the MPx200 last September, the MPx and MPx100 in February of this year, and the CN620 WLAN/WAN mobile device this week.

        The MPx220 is expected to be available Q4 2004.
