The clients are available with Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, or Linux.
(Click here for larger image)The TI54xx runs a 1 GHz VIA C3 processor with up to 1 GB each of RAM and Flash. An optional touchscreen panel is available for the "ultra sharp clarity" 17-inch LCD. In addition to the built-in 54 Mbps wireless LAN, the unit includes the usual array of communication ports such as Ethernet, USB, serial, and PS/2.

"This new model is designed to increase the scope of thin client technology" said Frank Noon, VXL's worldwide VP of Sales. "The dual monitor support and wireless LAN capability is indicative of VXL's desire to incorporate real value in our products."
While exact pricing was not disclosed, VXL says the TI54xx series is "aggressively priced." Current estimates put the new machine "some $300 cheaper than its equivalent rivals." Availability was likewise not disclosed.
