MPCGL0050 SBCThe Intel MPCBL0050 SBC is based on a Dual-Core Intel Xeon LV 5138 processor, and meets the AdvancedTCA form-factor and other requirements specified by PICMG 3.0. The SBC combines Intel 64 technology with dual-core, dual-processing capabilities, for a total of four processor cores on a single platform. It also provides AdvancdMC mezzanine card expansion, which offers hot-add and hot-swap features. The SBC targets high-performance, high-reliability "carrier-grade" applications, and includes various system redundancy features.

(Click for larger image)Future Bsquare "embedded server" offeringsBsquare plans to expand its "embedded server" offerings to include the development and optimization of "dedicated function servers" and "server appliances" that leverage Microsoft's SQL Server 2005 for Embedded Systems platform, which the company
licensed earlier this year.
These dedicated server products will target applications such as backend databases for embedded applications, data protection managers for embedded systems, continuous disk backup of network servers, document imaging database servers, integrated voice messaging system database servers, and storage server database servers, according to the company.
Bsquare's services and support for the Intel MPCGL0050 SBC appear to be immediately available. The company did not disclose pricing details.
