Intermec Technologies announced that it has released a beta of its developer libraries for Microsoft .Net Compact Framework. The libraries support data collection, report printing, wide-area wireless networking (WWAN), and DEX communication, using Intermec's wired and wireless automated data collection, Intellitag RFID (radio frequency identification), and mobile computing systems.

The company also said it plans to release additional libraries and extended support for Microsoft s Visual Studio .NET 2003 later this year. The Intermec Developer Libraries for Microsoft .NET Compact Framework were developed in Visual C# .NET and support devices with Pocket PC 2000 or higher and Windows CE .NET.

Intermec achieved world fame through its invention of the world's most widely used bar code symbology and today provides supply chain information products, services, and systems to companies in hundreds of industries around the world. An example of Intermec's handheld products is the Intermec 700 Color Mobile Computer.
