        Kits target specialized Windows Embedded applications

        Win Enterprises has introduced a series of application-oriented kits intended to help companies bring embedded products to market quickly and cost-effectively. Each kit targets specific markets, is based on an x86 processor, and is offered with support for Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded, the company says.

        The markets targeted by the kits are:
        • Networking, Internet, Telecommunications
        • Industrial Automation, Factory Control
        • Point-of-Sale (POS)
        • Media Center, Home Theater PC, Entertainment, Gaming
        • Military, Aerospace, Law Enforcement
        • Automotive
        • Medical and Scientific
        The kits vary widely, depending on the intended application. They range from an SBC (single board computer) only, all the way up to a complete kiosk design that includes an SBC, chassis, and touchscreen LCD monitor. All are based on readily available components, the company says.

        In addition to off-the-shelf SBCs and the new application-oriented kits, WIN Enterprises also offers customized design, manufacturing, fulfillment, and support services. The company also provides customized software support through SoluSoft, its software subsidiary.
