The smaller CB 511 (9.8 x 5.5 x 2 inches) includes the evergreen, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 processor along with the 945GSE northbridge and ICH7M southbridge. Expandable up to 2GB of DDR2 RAM, the PC employs CompactFlash storage and also includes a Mini PCI Express expansion slot, says Kontron.

Front panel connectivity for the CB 511 (above) includes two RJ45 connectors for gigabit Ethernet, four USB 2.0 ports, and a VGA output. The rear provides access to the CompactFlash slot and can optionally include an eSATA port, a DVI-D port, and another RS232 port, according to Kontron.
Kontron says the CB 511 can operate in temperatures ranging from 5 to 140 deg. F and withstand shocks of up to 5G (11ms duration) while operating. MTBF is approximately 50,000 hours, the company adds.

Kontron's CB 753 (above) is larger, at 13.8 x 10.3 x 3 inches, and includes a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo processor. This is combined with the GM45 northbridge and ICH9M southbridge, allowing up to 8GB of DDR3 memory to be installed via two DIMM slots, according to the company.
Fixed storage on the CB 753 is provided by two 2.5-inch bays for SATA devices (either hard disks or solid state disks), though the device also has an internal CompactFlash slot, according to Kontron. The PC is also said to include a Mini PCI Express slot, plus a half-length slot that may be used to house either a 32-bit, 33MHz PCI card or a PCI Express x16 card.
The device's wealth of interfaces, all to be found on its front panel, include three gigabit Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 ports, four serial ports, and a VGA output. Further offered are dual PS/2 ports, an S-Video output, a FireWire port, and even six 3.5mm jacks collectively providing 7:1 audio output.
According to Kontron, the CB753 has an operating range from 32 to 122 deg. F and again resists 5G shocks (11ms duration). MTBF for this device is cited at approximately 40,000 hours.
