The new JetBox 8180 comes optionally preinstalled with Windows XP Embedded on a CompactFlash card or SATA drive, but also supports Windows CE and Windows XP Professional as well as Linux, says the company.
Designed for remote wireless connectivity, the computer ships with both a Mini PCI Express (Mini-PCIe) slot and a SIM-card slot. The JetBox 8180 provides a gigabit Ethernet port, a RS232/422/485 serial port, a PS/2 port, and four USB 2.0 ports, says the company.
A DVI port is offered for video, and dual-display capability, presumably via an additional VGA port, is also said to be available as an option. Additional features are said to include headphone, mic, and line-in audio connectors, plus a watchdog timer and status LEDs.
Constructed for fanless operation, the DIN rail-mount computer provides IP32 protection and features an aluminum heat-sink frame housing for heat dispersion, says the company. Shock resistance is said to be compliant withIEC60068-2-27 (50g peak acceleration), and vibration resistance is rated as IEC60068-2-6 (5g/10~150Hz/operating).
Equipped with a power supply that accepts DC input from 12~24 Volts, the computer is said to provide 1.65A maximum (0.86A typical) power consumption with DC 19V input.
