Pico projector runs Windows CE
2009-11-30
Japan-based Lancerlink announced a pico projector that runs Windows CE 5.0 and includes built-in Microsoft Office viewers. The MPJ-104WCE projects VGA-resolution images up to about 32 inches diagonally, has a five-way controller, features a USB port, and operates for two hours on batteries, the company says.
Much like the Epoq EPP-CEP1 announced in August, the MPJ-104WCE appears not to have a video input for connection to external sources. Instead, the device is designed to display images stored in its internal memory or on a SD expansion card. ![]() Lancerlink's MPJ-104WCE The MPJ-104WCE also has no screen, relying entirely on its projection capabilities. According to Lancerlink, the projector uses white LEDs and an LCoS (liquid crystal on silicon) display, offers 10 Lumens, and has a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels. The device projects images that measure up to 32 inches diagonally, the company adds.
According to the company, the projector runs Windows CE 5.0, and includes software such as Windows Media Player, Word Pad, plus Microsoft Office viewers that can display PowerPoint, Word, and Excel documents. The MPJ-104WCE can also play video in WMV, AVI, and MPEG formats, photos in BMP and JPEG formats, and MP3, WMA, or WAV audio files, Lancerlink says. The MPJ-104WCE is said to employ an ARM9-based Samsung S3C2442 processor clocked at 400MHz, with 64MB of RAM and 64MB of flash storage. The device's battery powers the device for up to two hours, adds Lancerlink. Features and specifications listed by Lancerlink for the MPJ-104WCE include the following:
The MPJ-104WCE appears to be on sale now for 49,800 Japanese Yen (approximately $576). More information can be found on the Lancerlink website, here. Related stories:
