According to Lenze, the EL 103 (right) is intended to replace larger text displays previously used on machines, as well as simple graphics displays. The device's aluminum front is said to meet IP65 standards for sealing against dust and liquids, while the rear is IP20-compliant, the company says.
Lenze says the EL 103 has the same facilities as its larger HMI panels. For example, it includes a USB host port, a 10/100 Ethernet port, an SD slot, and a CANbus connector. An optional EL 103 PLC (programmable logic controller) version adds nonvolatile memory and can take on additional control tasks, the company adds.
The EL 103 runs Windows CE 5.0 on a Marvell PXA312 processor, with 64MB of RAM and 64MB of flash storage. The device employs 24VDC power and typically requires 5 Watts, Lenze says.
Lenze says VisiWinNET visualization software is optimized for use with the EL 103. Following selection of the device in a menu, the user can choose the required device driver in the VisiWinNET project wizard, set the corresponding parameters, and create diverse display applications.
