The recently announced Windows XP Embedded SP2 Feature Pack 2007 Community Technology Preview (CTP) is the subject of an hour-long online Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN) live chat, hosted by the developers, test engineers, and program managers of the feature pack on August 15, at 10 A.M.

        Pacific time.

The feature pack provides a number of new features, such as native USB Boot, enhancements to existing features and tools, such as EWF and HORM, and reduced footprint owing to substantial work on component dependencies, according to the Windows XP Embedded team.

The Windows XPe team has invited developers to participate in a pre-release program on the Microsoft Connect web site. The Feature Pack 2007 CTP is expected to be available on August 1 to those who sign up to participate on Microsoft Connect, according to the team.

For instructions on how to sign up for the CTP, see our earlier coverage, or Andy Allred's original blog entry about the feature pack.

Further details on attending the August 15th live chat are available here.
