SmartVideo Technologies will launch its streaming video service for smartphones and connected PDAs in conjunction with the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week. The company claims its service is unique in its ability to deliver live, fully synchronized video and audio to mobile devices (including smartphones) at a minimum of 15 frames/second -- enabling the delivery of live multimedia content...

"to any audience, anytime, anywhere around the world."

SmartVideo says it has developed client applications that support virtually all mobile platforms. The company says its rich video can be viewed on handsets fitted with a Windows Media Player as well as others, "covering most smartphones and PDA devices connected via cellular or Wi-Fi."

Video programming offered will include live TV and on-demand content from major networks, local affiliates, news, weather, sports, children's programs, music videos, and a host of other entertainment choices.

The service will be available beginning January 6th. Smartphone users can view content samples and subscribe by entering "www.windowsmedia.com/mobile" on their handsets.
