CommonTime has upgraded its IBM Lotus Notes mobile messaging software to support devices running Windows Mobile 6. "mSuite" version 4 is a collection of applications that brings advanced Lotus Notes messaging capability with "strongly Lotus-centric functions and operations" to the world of Windows Mobile devices, according to CommonTime.

mSuite enables wireless push Notes email and messaging via secure, centrally managed, over-the-air synchronization with a corporate server. For enterprises running Lotus Notes and/or Domino, mSuite speeds mobile deployment and reduces the end-user learning curve by leverage existing Lotus skills, according to the company.

        mSuite components

mSuite consists of four plug-in components that connect to a common "mobility framework." Their key features are listed as:
        • mNotes -- provides "full" Lotus Notes functionality on handheld devices including email, messaging, calendar, scheduling, and meetings

        • mForms -- enables rapid development of fully graphical mobile applications in Domino Designer; supports Lotus Notes @Formula language, executed on the client, to implement business rules and logic where the data is being entered

        • mSecure PDA -- provides reliable and automatic data protection, without affecting the user experience; protects both devices and removable media using centrally-controlled, policy-based security

        • mControl -- implements centralized deployment and maintenance of wireless devices and applications, as well as asset tracking, license management, configuration/content management and disaster recovery
CommonTime notes that mSuite is intended for enterprises with 10 or more mobile workers. An evaluation version may be requested using an online form located here.
