Digi Intn'l has introduced a series of low-cost development kits targeting wired and wireless embedded applications based on the company's 32-bit NET+ARM SoCs (system-on-chip processors). The JumpStart Kits include processor modules, development baseboards, and software development tools, and are available with...

Windows CE 6.0 support, according to Digi.

The JumpStart Kits for Windows CE-based development are based on the company's ConnectCore 9P module, for wired applications, and ConnectCore 9C/Wi-9C modules, for wired and wireless applications.

The Windows CE versions of both these JumpStart Kits support Windows CE 6.0, and are used with Microsoft's Visual Studio and Platform Builder development tools. Linux versions, also offered, come with an embedded Linux OS and an Eclipse-based IDE (integrated development environment).

According to Larry Kraft, Digi's senior VP of sales and marketing, the "JumpStart Kits are among the first development kits to offer support for Microsoft's new Windows Embedded CE 6.0."

Additionally, Kraft claims that the kits "provide features typical of development kits priced at or above $2,500."

The JumpStart Kits are available at the company's online store for a "special introductory" price of about $400, according to the company.
