Eurotech has introduced a RoHS-compliant PC/104-Plus single-board computer (SBC) that supports Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded. The CPU-1433 is based on an x86-compatible AMD Geode processor, and targets low-power, space-constrained embedded applications such as mobile computer systems, real-time industrial control,...

and multimedia data acquisition, according to the company.

Eurotech says the RoHS-compliant CPU-1433 replaces its older Geode GX1-based CPU-1432 and adds improved features and enhanced peripheral connectivity. The module is based on the AMD Geode GX466 333 MHz processor and is equipped with 128 MB of soldered-on DDR DRAM. Mass storage can be implemented with a DOM (DiskOnModule) flash memory device.

Eurotech lists the following key features and specifications for the CPU-1433:
        • Processor -- Geode GX466 at 333 MHz
        • Memory -- 128 MB DDR RAM soldered on board
        • Display:
          • TFT or CRT Interface
          • up to 1600 x 1200, 24-bit color, 85Hz
        • Storage -- IDE and Flash DOM connector
        • I/O ports:
          • 10/100 Ethernet with "N-way auto-negotiation", wake on LAN
          • 4 USB 2.0
          • 2 serial -- RS232, RS232/422/485
          • AC97 v2.3 audio
          • PS/2 keyboard and mouse
        • Expansion -- PC/104-Plus ISA and PCI busses
        • Power -- +5V only, less than 6 watts
        • Operating temperature -- 0 to 60 degrees C, extended temperature range available
Compatibility with commercial operating systems such as Windows CE, Windows XP Embedded, VxWorks, Linux, and QNX is "guaranteed," Eurotech says. A hardware development kit is available that includes Ethernet and USB adaptors, interface cables and power supply.

Price and availability were not disclosed.
