        All-in-one PC adopts AMD's E-350

MSI announced an all-in-one PC that includes AMD's dual-core, 1.6GHz E-350 processor and Radeon HD6310 graphics. The Wind Top AE2050 includes a 20-inch display with optional touch capabilities, up to 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard disk drive, stereo speakers, and two USB 3.0 ports, the company says.

MSI's Wind Top AE2050 employs AMD's dual-core, Atom-bashing E-350 processor, which has so far been installed mostly in portable computers such as MSI's own U270 or the HP Pavilion dm1z we reviewed in February. Like these other devices, the all-in-one thereby gains both a 1.6GHz CPU and the Radeon HD6310 processing unit, claimed (and verified in our tests) to easily handle HD video.

The AE2050 has the expected AMD A50M I/O controller and is said to support up to 4GB of DDR3 memory. The system features a 500GB, 3.5-inch hard disk drive plus a DVD drive (no Blu-ray, alas), according to MSI.

MSI says the AE2050 has a 20-inch display offering a resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels, plus stereo speakers and a VGA-resolution webcam. Multi-touch capabilities are said to be an available option, though the company doesn't say whether these are resistive (as we suspect) or capacitive.

Ports on the AE2050 are said to include gigabit Ethernet, audio and HDMI outputs, four USB 2.0 connectors, and two USB 3.0 interfaces. One of the latter is touted as a "Super Charger" port, suggesting that it's designed to put out more than the usual 500mA (for faster charging of portable devices).

According to MSI, the AE2050 has a six-in-one memory card reader and 802/11b/g/n wireless networking. The PC comes with the Windows 7 Home Premium operating system, the company adds.
