Vibren Technologies has inked a contract with Macromedia that authorizes Vibren to license and distribute the Macromedia Flash Player for embedded system and device applications. The deal will enable companies developing embedded systems and devices to incorporate Flash content display capabilities into their products, Vibren says.
Vibren will also offer software engineering services aimed at assisting companies in rapidly integrating the Macromedia Flash Player into their embedded systems and devices.
"Rising demand for rich content on embedded devices and the desire to build more sophisticated interfaces are the driving force behind the market acceptance of Macromedia Flash in the embedded space", explained Tom DeSisto, vice president of business development, Vibren Technologies. "This agreement will help expand Macromedia Flash Player usage into all types of embedded devices including PDAs, wireless and handheld systems, televisions and set top boxes, toys and other embedded devices."
