It also supports Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition.
NS Basic says that Basic/CE is the easiest way to develop for Windows CE. "The new features add considerably to the ease of use and the power of the applications that can be developed," according to the company.
Major enhancements are said to include support for devices running Windows Mobile Second Edition, as well as nine new program statements, many new properties on controls, new installers for many controls, and many other improvements. Support for the Frame object is also improved. Additionally, Virtual CE is now included in the installation, making it easy to develop on the desktop while connected to a device.
The company claims that NS Basic allows developers who program with tools such as Visual Basic to use their experience to develop applications for Windows Mobile 2003 Pocket PC devices. The company describes the package as "a complete, powerful development environment enabling the development of applications with a true Pocket PC look and feel." NS Basic includes features such as databases, serial and IR communications, signature capture, and more. Development takes place on the desktop or on the device itself.
Applications developed with NS Basic/CE can be distributed royalty free. The package itself costs around $150 for a single user. A free demo version is available for download
