The awards were presented during the Windows Embedded Partner Summit on April 30, at the kickoff of the Mobile and Embedded DevCon (MEDC) 2007 conference held this week in Las Vegas.
Now in their sixth year, the Partner Excellence Awards were previously known as Partner of the Year Awards. Categories range from Systems Integrator to Silicon Vendor and recognize partner contributions involving Windows Embedded CE, Windows XP Embedded and Windows Embedded for Point of Service.

With the exception of Applied Data Systems, which has won the Independent Hardware Vendor award four years in a row, all of this year's honorees are first time winners.
"Microsoft is excited to recognize the contributions of our embedded partners and their important role in the continued success of the Windows Embedded offerings," said Ilya Bukshteyn, director of marketing in the Windows Embedded Devices Division at Microsoft. "Helping our partners bring innovative devices to market quickly and efficiently is our top priority."
