        Microsoft embedded exec to give talk in Silicon Valley

        As part of Microsoft's "October Silicon Valley Speaker Series", Scott Horn, director of marketing for Microsoft's Embedded Devices Group, will explore the trends in embedded systems and the future of smart, connected devices for industries such as consumer electronics, commercial, mobile and networking.


        Horn's talk is titled: "Windows Embedded: The Next Generation of Smart, Connected, Small-Footprint Devices."

        Horn will also highlight how Microsoft is working with partners to enable products in a breadth of device categories including specialized handheld devices, advanced consumer electronics, industrial controllers, gateways, Internet Protocol (IP) telephones, server appliances, Windows-based thin clients, automated teller machines (ATMs), and cash registers.

        The presentation will include live demonstrations of products currently running on Windows Embedded operating systems.

        Audience members will be able to participate in a Q&A session following the presentation as well as enter a free drawing to win a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Kit.
