Microsoft is inviting participants in the Windows XP Embedded Feature Pack 2007 Community Tech Preview (XPe CTP) program to submit plans for projects using the CTP and/or user experiences for possible inclusion in the CTP's online launch coming up in November.

Interested CTP participants are being asked to email the XPe marketing team the following information:
        • Company Name
        • Mailing address
        • Contact person's and email/phone
        • Device type
        • Brief project description -- toolset, feedback, quote, timing of project (if known)
The deadline for entries is Sept. 28. The XPe marketing team says it will contact selected respondents to discuss the level of launch-event participation, whether it's a quote, use of company logo, a case study, or more.

As a token of appreciation, Microsoft says the first 30 respondents to submit a complete project profile will receive a free Icon Vase Speaker, like the one shown on the right (tell 'em WFD sent you!). The USB-powered surround sound speaker uses "innovative audio lens technology" and features a tuned tweeter for improved clarity, according to Microsoft. Retail value is said to be $25.

New features provided by Windows XP Embedded Feature Pack 2007 include native USB Boot, enhancements to existing features and tools (such as EWF and HORM), and reduced footprint owing to substantial work on component dependencies, according to the XPe team.
