Microsoft to select Windows ChallengE finalists

        Staff | Date: Mar 8, 2004 | Comments: 1

Microsoft's Windows Embedded Devices Group, in collaboration with the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, Inc. (IEEE) Computer Society International Design Competition (CSIDC), has invited student teams to participate in the first official Microsoft Windows ChallengE ("ChallengE").

The theme of the 2004 ChallengE competition is identical to that of IEEE's CSIDC 2004: "Making the World a Safer Place."

Basically, the Windows ChallengE contest represents an alternate way to enter the CSIDC 2004, a competition designed to advance excellence in computer science and computer engineering education by having student teams design and implement real-world systems. Students are asked to design an innovative prototype that enhances human safety. Both competitions (Microsoft's ChallengE and the IEEE's CSIDC) emphasize teamwork in the design, implementation, and testing of a computer-based system.

Further details on eligibility and project specification requirements are available here.
