The kit runs under all versions of Windows 2000 and Windows XP. Other downloadable software is required to work with the toolkit including:
- Pocket PC 2003 SDK for building Pocket PC applications
- Smartphone 2003 SDK for building smartphone applications
- eMbedded Visual C++ 4.0 and Service Pack 3 for writing native code
- Visual Studio .NET 2003 for writing managed code
