        Microsoft's "Mobile and Embedded Devices" revenue grows 66%

        Microsoft announced financial results for the fourth quarter of 2003 today. The company said Q4-03 total revenue was a record $10.15 billion, a 19% increase over the $8.54 billion reported for Q4-02. Revenue for Microsoft's Mobile and Embedded Devices segment for Q4-03 was $63 million, representing a 66% increase over the $38 million reported for Q4-02.


        However, the Mobile and Embedded Devices segment accounted for just 0.63 percent of Microsoft's total Q4-03 revenue.

        Microsoft defines its seven business segments as: Client; Server Platforms; Information Worker; Business Solutions; MSN; Mobile and Embedded Devices; and Home and Entertainment. Microsoft includes Pocket PC, SmartPhones, Handheld PC, other Mobility, Windows embedded device operating systems, and MapPoint in its Mobile and Embedded Devices segment.
