Hall billed the lunch gathering as an open discussion around technologies such as hardware, operating systems, and application development.
In response to
LinuxDevices.com's exhortation to its readers to go get some free pizza and "give Hall an earful," Hall
countered with "sure, bring it on, in exchange I will give you a mouthful (of Pizza)..."
In his post-LinuxWorld
blog post, Hall demonstrates that he survived the ordeal, but says he encountered a number of "horror stories around building and maintaining" embedded Linux systems. Also interesting, was the level of awareness -- or lack thereof -- surrounding Windows Embedded. Most attendees had heard of Windows CE, mainly in the context of it being the basis of Pocket PC and Windows Mobile, and many hadn't heard of Windows XP Embedded, Hall writes.
Hmmm, will there be a Microsoft booth at next year's LinuxWorld?
