Orneta has released an update of its FTP client for Windows Mobile devices. FTP Explorer Mobile 2007 adds support for Windows Mobile 6, and provides an "elegant and simple" one-handed interface for fast and efficient uploading and downloading of files, according to the company.

Orneta says that FTP Explorer's one-handed interface design allows copying and pasting of files between the server and the device with "just a few simple button presses." A single press of the left hand soft key switches between the device and the server. The software automatically adjusts to any screen resolution from 176 x 220 to VGA (640 x 480) and above, and detects screen orientation.

FTP Explorer supports background file transfers, passive FTP mode (PASV), and non-standard FTP ports, according to Orneta.

        Availability

A 14-day free trial download of FTP Mobile Explorer is available here. The retail price is around $20.

The current version works with Windows Mobile 5 and 6 devices. An older version is available to support Windows Mobile 2002 and 2003 devices, according to Orneta.
