Aligo says it has created the first mobile platform to combine the advantages of a Java-based back-end with a completely flexible development environment that supports both Microsoft's .NET and the J2ME standards. According to Aligo, its Omni Mobile Platform provides a single platform for creating and deploying applications for Java and Pocket PC / smartphone...

devices that can run in both wireless and disconnected modes.

Aligo says Omni Mobile Platform provides native .NET support in the Data Access Layer for seamless integration between .NET devices and Java back-office applications. The technology uses C# client rendering so that applications support both smart Java and .NET clients from one single tool and interface.

Aligo also says it has ported its previously available synchronization support to Omni Mobile Platform, extending disconnected access to Java and Pocket PC devices and optimizing it to use less network bandwidth.
