"Mobi Solution" addresses the security concerns raised by portable devices being lost or stolen, according to the company.
Route1's approach consists of a combination of hardware, host and client software (MobiHost and MobiRemote), and a network service (MobiNET) provided by the company. Users log into MobiNET through cellular or WiFi wireless, or a wired Ethernet connection. MobiNET contacts the host, which, in turn, connects the user to the appropriate desktop workstation.

NetBook Pro (pictured above), made by Psion Teklogix. The device is powered by an XScale processor, has 128 MB of RAM and 32 MB of Flash memory, and boasts an 800 x 600 touchscreen display along with a full QWERTY keyboard. It runs Windows CE 4.2 and accomodates a wide range of wireless interfaces through its PCMCIA, CompactFlash, and SDIO expansion slots.
The system comes configured with the company's MobiRemote and MobiHost client and server applications, which manage and integrate connections and session security based on RSA KEON and RSA BSAFE technologies, according to the company. The two applications are linked through MobiNET using a layered security design and encrypted communications, the company says.
The MobiBook PRO is available now, priced at $1595. An annual subscription to the MobiNET service is $240.
