Described as "ultra-thin," the MOTO Q music 9m is roughly half an inch thick, with a form-factor new to Motorola's
Q product line. The dual-band (800/1900 MHz) device operates, initially at least, on Verizon's EV-DO (Evolution Data Optimized) network.
Motorola underscores the black-and-red device's music orientation by touting stereo Bluetooth and even built-in stereo speakers. According to Motorola, the phone connects to Verizon's
V CAST music service, allowing users to download any of more than two million songs.

The MOTO Q music 9mOther features on the MOTO Q music 9m are more typical for a Windows Mobile-based smartphone, including a QWERTY keyboard, 1.3 megapixel camera, side-scroll thumbwheel for menu navigation, and Pocket Internet Explorer.
Documents to Go software is provided for viewing and editing email attachments in various formats.
