        Motorola unveils Windows Mobile based MPx200 smartphone

        Motorola today introduced its first mobile handset based on Microsoft's Windows Mobile (Smartphone) software, the MPx200. The device features a clamshell design, GSM 1800/1900 MHz GPRS band coverage, 32MB ROM and 32MB RAM, and an SD card memory expansion slot.

        • Video capabilities with Windows Media Player supported by up to 1 Gigabyte SD storage
        • 32MB ROM and 32MB RAM

        • IrDA port
        • Secure digital/multimedia memory slot
        • "Smart Dial" allows for easy dialing
        • Clamshell design with chrome accents
        • Size: 1.9 x 3.5 x 1.1 in. (approx.)

          Software:
        • Based on Microsoft's Windows Media software platform for Smartphones
        • Synchronization with Windows via Microsoft ActiveSync
        • Ability to download Smartphone applications wirelessly
        • Full Personal Information Management (PIM) functionality through Microsoft Pocket Outlook to view and interact with inbox, contacts, calendar, and tasks
        • Pocket Internet Explorer -- supports HTML and WAP to view internet sites, streaming video or music files
        • Instant messaging with MSN Messenger
        • Utility Pack includes file manager, task manager, space maker, and system information
        • Downloading capabilities to customize the device with screensavers, home screens, and ring tones of choice
