Compumaster has introduced a series of Windows XP Embedded-based thin clients that can drive multiple simultaneous displays, using Matrox graphics boards. The systems target applications requiring the display of large amounts of information in a limited space, such as finance, dispatch, and process control environments.

Three XP6700 multi-display thin client models are being offered, based on three different Matrox EpicA series graphics cards, the TC2-Lite, TC2, and TC4.

The units come with Matrox PowerDesk software, which is used for managing multi-display client desktops from the server, according to Matrox. PowerDesk offers several modes of operating multiple displays:
        • Stretched -- desktop is set up as a single large display
        • Independent -- settings for each display can be set independent of the other displays
        • Cloned -- the same desktop is displayed on all displays
The XP6700 thin client series is based on a 1 GHz processor, along with 256 MB of RAM and 512 MB of flash memory. Additional XP6700 features and specifications, listed by Compumaster, include:
        • I/O ports:
          • 10/100 BaseT Ethernet
          • 4 USB 2.0
          • 2 RS232
          • Audio -- mic and headphone jacks
          • PS/2 keyboard and mouse
        • Wireless -- optional
          • 802.11b/g WiFi either built in or external USB
        • Dimensions -- 11.5 x 9.33 x 2.1 inches (292 x 237 x 53 mm)
        • Power supply -- external 12V 4A DC
The differences in the three XP6700 models, according to which Matrox display adapter they have installed, are summarized in the table below.
