        Multimedia "IP endpoint" is powered by Windows CE .NET

        Inter-tel will demonstrate its recently introduced multimedia, multi-protocol, touchscreen "IP endpoint" at VoiceCon 2004 in Orlando, FL next week.         users to enable routing rules, manage presence and availability, monitor the status of coworkers, speed-dial contacts, view call history and messages, and initiate communication sessions.

        The Model 8690 boasts a 6.4-inch (diagonal) backlit LCD TFT color touchscreen and provides a full-duplex speakerphone and a dedicated headset jack. Its input/output interfaces include USB, 3 switched Ethernet ports, and both PCMCIA and CompactFlash expansion slots. Other key functions include QoS/voice prioritization, echo cancellation, and web-based programming.

        Inter-tel announced softphone software for VoIP communications using Pocket PCs connected to 802.11 wireless networks earlier this year.
