A new multimedia software development kit (SDK) from Online Media Technologies Ltd. empowers Windows CE developers to integrate audio recording/playback and audio/data CD/DVD burning into their applications. The company's CD/DVD burning solution for Windows CE is said to be compatible with x86-, ARM-, and MIPS-based products running under Windows CE V4.2/5.0.

Target applications include multimedia kiosks, set-top boxes, and home entertainment devices.

The new SDK contains multiple components for managing data CD and DVD burning; music CD ripping, burning, and copying; and audio CD and audio file playback and recording. It supports WAV MP3, WMA, AAC, and M4A audio formats, converting between formats as appropriate, and it supports all MMC-compliant CD/DVD drives, accommodating all currently available media types: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R DL, and DVD-RAM.
