AT&T Wireless announced nationwide availability of the Motorola MPx200, the first Windows Mobile based smartphone to become available in the North American market. The MPx200 is being sold for $299.99 along with designated AT&T Wireless service plans.

"The sleek clamshell Motorola MPx200 allows AT&T Wireless customers to bring the familiarity and dependability of their Windows-centric office with them on-the-road," says AT&T. Features include PIM functionality (users can access Microsoft Outlook contacts, inbox, calendar and tasks with ease), PC file transfer via USB or IrDA, MSN Messenger, Pocket Internet Explorer, and Windows Media Player audio (WMA) and MP3 music file playing. Users can customize the Motorola MPx200 to create "the ultimate mobile entertainment device," AT&T adds.

Additional features are provided in this news item from Motorola's launch of the MPx200 last month.
