WIN Enterprises is shipping a rack-mountable 1U high embedded development platform optimized for network appliance applications. The PL-01025 incorporates a security coprocessor capable of offloading packet processing for its ten Gigabit and four 10/100 Ethernet ports, according to the company.

The PL-01025 appears to be a packaged version of the IP-06049 SBC (single-board computer) introduced last fall. WIN says the device supports both Windows CE and Windows XP Embedded on a Pentium M processor with up to 8 GB of DDR RAM. A CompactFlash slot and IDE connector provide storage options. A 64-bit, 100 MHz PCI-X slot supports expansion. Eight of the ten Gigabit Ethernet ports are SFP (Small Form-factor Plugable) fiber, and two are copper.

A SafeNet SafeXcel 184x network security coprocessor offloads packet processing, as well as encryption, hash, and public key computations. The chip integrates a complete suite of hardware security features, including IPSec, ESP, and AH transforms; basic encrypt/decrypt and hash operations; and SL, TLS, and MPEE cryptographic operations.
