        New Fujitsu Siemens Windows Mobile handheld does it all

        Fujitsu Siemens has announced a Windows Mobile handheld that combines the functions of 3G UMTS phone, PDA, still and video cameras, MP3 player, and GPS navigation. The Pocket Loox T features both WiFi and Bluetooth, a QWERTY keyboard, and Microsoft

        Presently, two models in the T series are planned, according to Fujitsu, the T810 and the T830. Both feature tri-band GSM and UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications System) along with built-in WiFi with VoIP capability, Bluetooth, and GPS. The T830, adds both a VGA video camera, for video telephony, and a 2 Mpixel (1600 x 1200) still camera with autofocus.

        Fujitsu lists the following key features and specifications for the Pocket Loox T series:

        • Memory -- 64 MB RAM; 128 MB Flash
        • Display -- 2.4-inch 240 x 240 color transflective TFT touchscreen, LED backlight
        • Expansion -- SDIO / MMC slot
        • Wireless:
          • Tri-band GSM -- 900/1800/1900 MHz
          • UMTS -- 2100 MHz
          • 802.11b/g Wi-Fi
          • Bluetooth 2.0
        • GPS -- SiRF GCS3F
        • Audio -- built-in microphone and speaker; headphone jack
        • USB 1.1 host and slave, via sync cable
        • Cameras: (T830 only)
          • VGA (640 x 480) video camera, supports video telephony via UMTS
          • still camera -- 2 Mpixel (1600 x 1200), auto focus
        • Dimensions -- 5 x 2.5 x 0.8 inches (126 x 64 x 21 mm)
        Price and Availability

        The Pocket Loox T series is expected to be available in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) markets in July, priced from around 700 Euros, according to Fujitsu.
