Credant Technologies's "Mobile Guardian" client security software. HP ProtectTools enables users to support their company's security policies, including strong authentication, according to HP. As an added level of security, the hx2700 incorporates a biometric fingerprint reader made by
Atmel. Using biometric software from
Cogent Systems, users may authenticate themselves with either a fingerprint alone, or via a combination of a PIN or password plus fingerprint recognition.
All three units feature 3.5-inch, QVGA resolution (320x240), 64K-color, transflective TFT LCD displays that are switchable between portrait and landscape mode. For memory and I/O expansion, the devices all include two types of expansion slot -- a Type II CompactFlash slot, and a Secure Digital slot. They also all include integrated Bluetooth wireless and serial IR connectivity, while the two higher-end models add 802.11b Wi-Fi. Dimensions for all three are 4.7 x 3.0 x .65 inches.
