        New Sharp ARM922T-based SoC runs Windows CE .NET

        Sharp Microelectronics says its highly integrated ARM922T-based 32-bit system-on-chip (SoC) processor, the LH7A404, is now available in production quantities. Sharp is targeting the 200MHz SoC processor at high-end mobile, industrial, and entertainment applications, and is offering it with support for Microsoft's Windows CE .NET embedded OS.




        Functions included within the LH7A404 include USB Host, touch screen controller, programmable LCD controller, ATD controller, memory media interfaces, Direct Memory Access Controller, serial and parallel ports, Infrared support, counter/timers, real time clock, watchdog timer, and an on-chip Phase Lock Loop. The programmable LCD controller supports up to 1,024 x 768 resolution, up to 64,000 colors and 15 gray shades allowing direct interface to STN, Color STN, TFT and Sharp's Advanced-TFT Panels. The LH7A404 also has 80KB on-chip memory. The chip is offered in a 324-Ball CABGA package

        An evaluation board for the LH7A404 is available for under $400.
