T-Mobile has introduced a new Pocket PC phone manufactured by Taiwanese phone-maker HTC into the U.S. The T-Mobile "Wing" features a blue soft-touch exterior, a touch-sensitive QVGA LCD screen, and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and runs Windows Mobile 6.

The Wing is reportedly based on the HTC Atlas platform, and equipped with a 200 MHz OMAP 850 processor, 64 MB of RAM, and 128 MB of flash. HTC describes it as a successor to the MDA, which T-Mobile announced in February of 2006. The Wing is "30 percent smaller than its predecessor, the T-Mobile MDA," according to HTC America VP Todd Achilles.

Key features listed by T-Mobile include:
        • 2.8-inch QVGA LCD
        • Quad band (850/900/1800/1900 MHz) cellular communications
        • WiFi and Bluetooth wireless
        • 2 megapixel camera
        • Voice-activated functions
        • Micro SD memory card slot
        • Speakerphone
        • Dimensions -- 2.3 x 4.3 x 0.7 inches (58 x 109 x 18 mm)
        • Weight -- 6 oz.
The T-Mobile Wing is available now at a suggested retail price of $500, or $300 with qualifying service plans, according to the company.
