Both devices include three TV tuners -- two standard definition, and one ATSC over-the-air high-definition. The devices' PVR (personal video recorder) function is compatible with cable, digital cable, digital satellite, standard defintion over-the-air, and digital over-the-air, and can simultaneously record up to three video streams to hard disk while playing back a fourth. The PVR works in conjunction with a 14-day electronic programming guide to record automatically. The devices' built-in "SuperMulti" DVD drive records video and music to DVDs. It can also burn "professional looking" greyscale laser-etched labels onto CDs and DVDs using "LightScribe" technology, according to HP.
