        New 'low cost' Sharp SoCs support Windows CE

        Sharp Microelectronics unveiled two new members of its ARM-based BlueStreak system-on-chip (SoC) microprocessor family at the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco today.         programmable LCD controller. Additionally, the on-chip MMU is compatible with Windows CE.

        Sharp Microelectronics says it is previewing beta samples of the BlueStreak LH79524/LH79525 SoCs in the second quarter 2004, with production expected in the fourth quarter of 2004. Pricing for both SoCs will be under $12 in units of 10,000.
