Sugar says that Bayonne 2 is designed to run as a "headless system service" on any 32-bit Windows OS including Windows XP Embedded. However, only sound card and SIP drivers are currenty supported under Windows. Additional Windows support for Voicetronix, Intel-Dialogic, and openh323 is expected in the near future.
"This release was made to initiate development and testing of Bayonne under Microsoft Windows, and is not intended for general use outside of the development community at this time," says Sugar.
The package offers support for both wired and protocol stack-based telephony drivers, including initial support for SIP and H323. Bayonne 2 uses a simplified driver model and exposes core functionality both through an interface library and a model script-driven voice application server, according to Sugar.
