ERA incorporates rendering technologies that include
TV Rendering (TVR),
Small Screen Rendering (SSR), and
Medium Screen Rendering (MSR). Opera says ERA "concludes Opera's effort" to solve the rendering problem.
According to Opera, ERA technology enables dynamic resizing, adapting Web page content to fit any width -- "from projectors to mobile phones, and everything in between." ERA can also be used to fit Web pages to various paper widths, to ensure complete print-outs.
"ERA means that users can have a great Internet experience on any screen regardless of a Web page's width, tables, or frames," said Opera CEO Jon S. von Tetzchner.
ERA will be an integral feature of Opera 7.60, the next version of Opera's desktop browser. It is available for beta testing now as part of Opera 7.60 Technical Preview 3. Links to download the preview release are available in Opera's
online forum.
