Opera says that the new browser makes "full" use of the screen size and resolution of Pocket PC displays through its tabbed browsing capability, which easily switches between multiple simultaneously open pages. Additionally, the browser's "Small Screen Rendering" technology automatically adapts Web pages to match screen width in both landscape and portrait modes. Pages can be viewed either in the browser interface or full screen mode, and can be magified for easier reading.

This latest release follows a January beta preview of Opera Mobile 8.5 for Windows Mobile Pocket PCs. T-Mobile and Japanese mobile operator Willcom will be the first carriers to ship devices with Opera Mobile 8.6 pre-installed, according to the company.
