        PMP, GPS combo runs Windows CE

        Sitec Systems has added a new model to its Centrix line of portable media players (PMP). The MVP-150 combines multimedia functionality with GPS navigation, and is the first member of the family to run Windows CE, according to the company.

        The MVP-150 runs Windows CE 4.2 on an unspecified processor, and comes with either a 20 GB or 30 GB 1.8-inch hard disk. The device's 4-inch TFT screen supports wide QVGA resolution of 480 x 272, according to Sitec. A PAL/NTSC video output supports viewing on a TV monitor.

        The company lists the following key features and specifications for the MVP-150:
        • GPS -- built-in SiRF Star III receiver
        • Audio -- built-in stereo speaker, 1 W max output
        • Comm/Sync -- USB 2.0
        • Applications:
          • Video player -- MPEG1, MPEG4, DviX, Xvid, AVI, ASF, WMV7/8/9
          • Audio player -- MP2, MP3, WAV, WMA, AC3, PCM, ADPCM
          • Image viewer -- JPEG, BMP
          • Navigation software
          • Text viewer
          • Voice recorder
        • Dimensions -- 5.3 x 3.0 x 1.0 inches (135 x 76.6 x 25.9 mm)
        Accessories include a vehicle-mount cradle (shown above).

        Price and availability of the MVP-150 were not disclosed.
