        Partnership delivers content to Windows-based set-top boxes

        Stellar One and Orca Interactive have jointly announced a set of software components for delivering multimedia and other broadband content and services to Windows CE .NE based set-top boxes. The services include video on demand, Live TV over broadband networks, gaming, t-commerce, Internet, music on demand, and email, the companies said.




        The offering consists of Stellar One's StellarTV client software (formerly known as ConnectTV), plus Orca Interactive's RiGHTv video delivery and broadcast services. Stellar One's software runs on set-top boxes based on Microsoft's Windows CE. NET operating system, while Orca Interactive's technologies, which are deployed on servers from Sun and Oracle, handle the server-side management and streaming services necessary to deliver the desired video and content to the set-top boxes.
