        Pentium 4 panel PC line boasts Windows Embedded support

        Advantech recently launched a series of Panel PCs based on Intel Pentium 4 processors to address the increasing demands of processor-intensive applications such multimedia, gaming, and Point of Information (POI) terminals.


        The panels feature Windows Embedded support.

        Advantech says its Panel PCs differentiate themselves in the market with their ready-to-go Windows Embedded OS support, more inputs and outputs, and a flexible selection of data storage devices such as 6-in-1 card readers. Reflecting the company's background in industrial-grade equipment, the front panels of all the Panel PCs are well protected with IP65/NEMA4 ratings. This means they are totally dust proof and protected against water.

        The three new units are:
        • PPC-S154T
          • Pentium 4-M processor up to 2.2 GHz, 1.7 GHz standard
          • 15 inch TFT XGA display
          • Up to 1 GB DDR SDRAM
          • Ultra slim profile -- 49 mm (1.93 inches) deep

        • PPC-174T and PPC-154T
          • , Pentium 4 processor up to 3.06 GHz
          • 15 inch TFT XGA display (PPC-154T)
          • 17 inch TFT SXGA display (PPC-174T)
          • Resistive touchscreen optional
          • Up to 2 GB DDR SDRAM
        All three units feature built-in FDD/CD drives and a range of I/O and storage ports including:
        • PCI expansion
          • PPC-S154T -- One mini PCI
          • PPC-154T -- One PCI
          • PPC-174T -- Two PCI
        • 2 PCMCIA Type II (PPC-154T and PPC-174T)
        • Compact Flash Type II socket (PPC-S154T)
        • Optional 6-in-1 card reader -- MS, SD, SM, MC and CF type I/II sockets -- (PPC-154T and PPC-174T)
        • 10/100Base-T Ethernet
        • 4 USB 2.0
        • 2 COM RS-232
        • 2 PS2, keyboard and mouse
        • 1 printer
