Skype for Pocket PC 1.0 enables cross-platform voice calls to other Skype users running Skype for Windows, Skype for Linux, or Skype for Mac OS X. All Skype software is free, easy to download, simple to use, and offers superior call quality and security, according to the company. Users control their online presence and contact lists, and have many customizable options.
Features of Skype for Pocket PC 1.0 are said to include:
- Free unlimited calling to all other Skype users
- User-built directory of Skype contacts with various search options
- End-to-end encryption for privacy
- Participate in conference calls with up to five people
- Use Skype from any Wi-Fi hotspot in the world
- Multiple Skype accounts on one computing device
- Instant messaging
Skype for Pocket PC includes SkypeOut, a pre-pay service that permits global calling from an Internet connection to any traditional telephone number at local rates. SkypeOut Global Rate pricing is 1.7 Euro cents per minute (approximately two US cents). The complete country rate sheet is available
