Bitstream has announced a new release of its web browser for Pocket PC based mobile devices. ThunderHawk 2.0 Pocket PC Edition is said to provide effortless navigation on mobile devices by rendering HTML Web pages that look just like those produced by familiar desktop browsers, including full, crisp images and sharp-looking...

        text.

Features of ThunderHawk 2.0, according to Bitstream, include:
        • Effortless scrolling. Fast, fluid Web page navigation like on a desktop.
        • A more user-friendly keypad.
        • Increased speed. Download ThunderHawk directly to a Pocket PC for the fastest mobile Web page speeds available.
        • The ability to read information on-the-fly. The compact transport format and progressive rendering creates a "fast, positive user experience."
        • Seamless connectivity. A dropped connection is re-established immediately, along with any data previously entered.
        • The ability to copy and paste text, among other editing functions.
        • Proxy authentication support.
        Sample screenshots are available here.

In addition to the Pocket PC edition, Bitstream offers two other versions of Thunderhawk:
        • Enterprise Server Edition -- a client-server technology for corporations, carriers and device manufacturers.
        • Smartphone Edition -- displays websites correctly on small screen devices.
Thunderhawk is available by subscription for $5.95 per month or $49.95 per year. A 30-day free trial version is available for download.
