(Click here for larger image of animated screenshot)Voice2Go is a "trainable" application that associates recorded words or phrases with specified application programs or other commands. As such, it is tied to a user and not to a language. Voice commands can start or quit applications, call a contact or hang up the phone, and modify system settings, according to Vito.
A new feature in v1.2 links a recorded phrase with a contact so that Voice2Go "announces" an incoming call from the contact. Vito says the package also supports a "macro" recording feature that links a voice command to a series of button presses to carry out a more involved task.
Voice2Go can be started by a "magic word," according to Vito. The program begins listening for commands once it detects the magic word. Following another magic word, it turns itself off. The company cautions that the Pocket PC should be plugged into a power source when Voice2Go is running, since the listening mode continually consumes power.
Voice2Go can be purchased for $29.95. A demo version is available from the company's
website.
