        Point of purchase display runs Windows Embedded

        If you've seen either of the sci-fi films Blade Runner or Minority Report, you've seen the future of "point of purchase" (POP) media -- tailored, dynamic messages employing electronic digital image content that change by time and location.

        gondolaPlay is a POP media display engine developed for the UK retail market by Screenplay Communications Ltd., in partnership with Blue Chip Technology.

        The gondolaPlay is based on an ETX form-factor single-board computer (SBC) made by Blue Chip, with a 1 GHz Pentium 4 class processor and 256 MB of RAM. The current version runs Windows XP Embedded is its embedded operating system, but it can also be configured to run Windows CE .NET.
